Certificate of Good Standing UK

Certificate of Good Standing

Official confirmation from Companies House that your British company meets all of its statutory obligations

What is a Certificate of Good Standing?

A Certificate of Good Standing is an official document issued by Companies House confirming that the British company in question:

  • Is validly registered and active on the Companies House register
  • Is up to date with its statutory filings (Confirmation Statement filed, Accounts filed)
  • Has not been formally dissolved and is not in liquidation or any other official proceedings

When you need a Certificate of Good Standing

🏦 Opening a bank account – many banks (UK, EU and elsewhere) require this certificate as part of the company documentation in their KYC process

🤝 Business partners – when concluding contracts with new partners, especially abroad, who want to verify your company

📋 Public procurement and tenders – required as part of the bidder's documentation

🌍 Cross-border transactions – mergers, acquisitions or registering a branch in another country

How we obtain the certificate for you

The Certificate of Good Standing is issued by Companies House on request. The condition is that the company has duly filed all mandatory documents (Accounts, Confirmation Statement). As a registered ACSP and Companies House agent we order the document on behalf of your company and arrange its delivery.

If the company has not filed all mandatory returns, we first remedy that and only then obtain the certificate. Standard processing takes approximately 2–3 working days.
